# Product Bases

The **Product Base** section allows merchants to manage custom product types that are not directly pulled from their Shopify store. Product Bases act as reusable product templates that can be linked with your designs when creating campaigns.

There are two ways to add a product: Manually Add or Import from Print Vendor&#x20;

## 1. Manual Add

Click the **“Add”** button in the top-right corner to manually create a new product base.

You’ll then be asked to input the following:

* **Product Name** – Give your item a clear, searchable name.
* **Print Areas** – Add print zones (e.g., front, back) and define their sizes in pixels.
* **Previews** – Upload product mockup images for use in templates.
* **Variants** – Set up product variants like size, color, or material using simple dropdowns.

> ✅ *Tip: Adding detailed print areas and clean preview images will make it easier to build accurate templates later.*

Once complete, click **Save** to finalize your product base and make it ready for template assignment and campaign creation.

## 2. Import from Vendor (Printful)

Click the **“Import”** button to pull in products directly from **Printful’s catalog**. You can use the search bar or browse to find your desired product, then click on the product you want to import

<figure><img src="https://4235989069-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FrihgZgEjEfk2NzCONWV0%2Fuploads%2FPjebaaSqaj2TFCVPUuUy%2FPrintful%20.png?alt=media&amp;token=02aff508-b41d-427a-ba6e-d7fdf0e77412" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Once selected, the system will automatically pull in:

* **Print areas**: Each print zone (e.g., front, back, label) along with exact dimensions
* **Variants**: Sizes and color combinations available for that product
* **Previews**: You can upload product preview mockups here

After setup, your imported product base is ready to be linked to a template and used in a campaign.

> 📌 **Note:** Currently, Customix supports import from **Printful** only — but we plan to support more print providers in future updates.
